We want to clarify recent commentary about Pāmu Deer Milk activities.
Pāmu has not stopped deer milk production permanently. Decisions about how much milk to produce are made at the start of each season, based on customer demand and market conditions. For the 2025/26 season, we chose not to harvest deer milk including from one of our South Island supply partners. This decision was made to better match supply with current demand and to protect the long‑term position of the product.
We continue to explore market opportunities for deer milk. Decisions for the 2026/27 season will be made by December, informed by customer needs.
Planning and contracting supply ahead of each season is standard practice, and our customers can remain confident in Pāmu ability to supply in line with agreed requirements.
